Teenage Bedroom Designs

This is an article dedicated to teenage bedroom designs, especially the do of the walls of the bedrooms. But before we find out about the designs let us get to know something about teenagers. See, we have all been through this age and all of us know what it is like to be a teen, the fun, the laughter and inside the deep doubt regarding ourselves, what we want to become and who we are. Therefore, I think that it is time we handled our teens correctly rather than shout on them for each and every mistake they make. I know that it is difficult to keep your temper cool but you could give them a chance you know.

And what better gesture to show them you care than helping them decorate their bedroom for them. A teenager’s bedroom is their haven of sorts and whether it is school work or just a sleepover with their friends, everything; little plans, every little secret is shared in this room. So, it is something that is very very special to them and when you put in action the teenage bedroom designs, you need to keep in mind what your teenager wants. First and foremost make sure that the room reflects the personality of your child.

Get to know what your teen likes, which music trend they follow, who are their heroes and superstars etc. However that is not to say that you therefore let your teen get away with anything. A certain amount of control would be necessary so that you as well as your teen both are happy. This way, you create a bond with your child which grows stronger over the years. You would not want to build a gap between the two of you, so vast, that you never can overcome it and when you realize, it’s too late. Generally these gaps are formed in the teen years and so be careful.

Now, for the teenage bedroom designs for the walls, what you need to do is to get the right color, the color which speaks with your teen and then you can paint up the walls with your kid. After that, help them put up their posters and any other graffiti that they would like to on the walls. Also, painting landscapes and seascapes on the walls, if your teen is into these things, would be wonderful.

So get these good teenage bedroom designs and get closer to your teen.

Perfect Bedroom Design Tips

If you’re thinking about remodeling your bedroom, it’s a good idea to plan first – this way, you’ll save yourself time and money. Using computer-aided software is the best way to plan. You can plan your room to its actual dimensions and you can see exactly how your room will look so there aren’t any last-minute time-consuming rearrangements. Bedroom design software allows you to put everything in place to its actual dimensions, whether it’s a built-in wardrobe or a vase on a bedside table, the accurate software will create your room so you can be confident everything is where is should be when it comes to redecorating.

Planning

Hopefully, you’ll have used interior design software to plan the fundamentals of your room – where to position your bed and how to maximise space-saving furniture efficiently – you will need to consider what you’ll be using your bedroom for. There are no set rules about what you can and can’t have in your room, some recommend not having a computer space or television so you can keep your bedroom as a place to wind down, but others prefer to have a laptop in their room – it’s completely down to your personality. Your bedroom should be a respite, a place to go to relax and wind down after a hard day’s work.

Decoration

The colour scheme is important, remember the bedroom is your own space and also a space you spend a lot of time relaxing so the colours should reflect this. You can either opt for warm or cool colours – warm colours are reds, yellows and oranges whereas cool colours are blues, creams and pastels. Cool colours tend to be more relaxing and give the illusion of the room being bigger, which is why these are a favourite for bedrooms. That doesn’t mean you can’t opt for warm colours as well, these colours tend to bring everything closer so make a room look smaller – an option for spacious rooms to make them feel more cosy. Choosing the base colour for your room is an important decision – colour can act differently in different types of lighting – an age old trick to test how the colour reacts is to paint the inside of a shoebox in your chosen shade and see how the colour changes. This gives you a bird’s eye view of how your room will look.

Flooring

Your choice of flooring should be comfy enough for bare feet and should ideally cushion out any noise. You could opt for floorboards, which are practical and purchase a colourful rug to cover the majority of floor space. An accessory as simple as a rug can have a huge impact on the overall look of your bedroom, and by simply changing the colour every now and again, you can transform the way your bedroom looks. Try and remember to keep your room as clutter-free as possible by maximising storage space and making sure everything in your room has a place – and not on the floor!

How to Use Wall Finishes in a Bedroom Design Project

Dear friends, any interior space is composed of some primary
architectural elements such as walls, floor and ceiling.
Depending upon the type of structural framework, the
construction method would change.

We always see experience and perceive any interior space
in elevation. This means that walls are the first things of
any structure that create an impact on our mind. The quality
and volume formed because of the walls define an architectural
structure.

When we enter a building, what we primarily and dominantly
perceive are walls. Let’s see how walls can be used as an
excellent element in a bedroom design project.

1) Exposed Brick walls.

In order to use these kind of walls it is necessary to preplan the
interior design schedule. Normally if a brick wall is to
be kept exposed (without plaster), it is built with high quality
bricks which are machine cut for high quality and accuracy.

Since bricks have their own color and texture, this option can
be used to create a color contrast by keeping only one wall
exposed and other with a contrasting color. This can add some
interest in the bedroom.

2) Exposed plaster walls.

An exposed plaster wall is a wall which has not been painted.

These kind of walls are very rarely used in interiors. Since
the plaster is a composite material using appropriate qualities
of cement, sand and aggregate, the final material has a dull
color. A dull color on a space like bedroom would express
a kind of depression, hence is not recommended.

But portions of a wall with preplanned design and sketching can
be used in association with exposed brick wall. Design
pattern with partly colored and partly exposed plaster can be a
good idea.

Or a completely exposed plaster wall with a design patter in grooves
can be used effectively.

3) Wall with tile cladding.

Tile cladding is what we see in kitchen above the cooking
platform. Tile cladding is also used in bathrooms and toilets.
These are normally ceramic tiles.

In a bedroom interesting patterns can be created to fake the
exposed brick wall mentioned above. Many excellent patters
can be used just like a jigsaw puzzle.

4) Paintings.

The word painting has two meanings here.

a) A wall with plane colors applied to it. This is done above the
plastered surface of the wall. Two or three coats of the desired
shade of the color and base material are applied.

b)Secondly, instead of using plane colors, the entire wall can
be used as a “canvas” to paint a story or mural. This is a very
good method to paint children bedrooms. Walls can be used as a
storyboard to create interest.

5) Wallpapers.

Applying a wallpaper is an excellent way to quickly change the
look and feel of the bedroom. Depending upon the “theme” of the room
many wallpaper patterns are available.

Wallpapers are very good in large bedrooms. In large bedroom
“emptiness” is a big problem. If there are not enough decorating
elements available, a room might look empty. Here wallpapers can
serve as fillers and quickly add some interest in the room.

6)Textured plaster walls.

These kind of walls need special techniques to create a textured
pattern on walls. Once a texture is applied any shade of
paint can be used.

One of the great thing about these walls is, when sunlight falls on
them, a very interesting play of light and shadows gets created.
Because of the undulations in the surface of the plaster, small
shadows form on the surface of the wall, giving it a visual
quality.

A wall in the bedroom which receives direct sunlight should be
chosen for this purpose.

This article shows you how various options to the existing wall
finishes are possible, that can enhance the quality of the
bedroom interior space.

I hope this article was informative to everyone.
